New user information for Steve Majors - The Lazy Investor[edit]

Steve Majors - The Lazy Investor TheLazyInvestor.com

As an active real estate investor, I like articles and information about real estate investing and how to do deals creatively using little or no money down techniques.

After doing many dozens of deals myself, there are few 'new' ways to learn, however, I am always on the lookout for something new and a 'twist' to tried-and-tested methods.

I teach real estate investing and have several books and tapes available, but that is not my main area of interest. What I really like to do is get deals for people that will make them money (a 'win' for them), make the seller happy to move the property (a 'win' for them) as well as a reasonable fee for myself (a 'win' for me).

I'm known as "The Lazy Investor" because of the methods I believe in - doing things the simple way and making the most profit from them quickly.

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada and invest all over the US (occassionally, out of the country too). I "follow the money" instead of investing just where I live. I believe you should "live where you like, but invest where the money is"!

I'm new to Wikipedia, but look forward to contributing where and as I can. From what I have seen, it is a vast site with already many valuable contributions.

I look forward to being a part of this website and contributing to your knowledge any way I can.

You can contact me through my website at TheLazyInvestor.com

Ok, thanks for the warning even though i don't,t know how to respond as yet.

shower science or the study of showering systems in particular is something that has been on my plate for many years now.

What is indicated in the material is quite verified.

I am only vaguely aware of just how i eventually got to the wiki, but realize there are some very good people here that really do want to help.

I have a feeling that i wont be doing anything until i receive more detailed guidance.

in the meantime i will from time to look at any edits you have done with shower science which is why i instinctively cut whole sections of what i had posted at times when i thought the pace may have been to quick, and a more generalized easily read style is required.

My own criticism is the information i have submitted is to complex and great justice could be done to the subject if it could be simplified further. I do feel it can be condensed without adding any unnecessary material which is what i want and i know wiki does to.

A well constructed formulation and a photo or diagram is better than a half a page of text in the wiki.

Actually i do now realize more than ever it needs to be a collaborative effort.Showerscience 11:43, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New objective shower science!!![edit]

Hi there.........Mike here, developer of the controlled differential hybrid showering system that enables a user to have a shower without needing to use the shower head to stay warm and quite a lot more besides.

I am a new user and have found the wiki to be a valuable data base in the past.

Perhaps prematurely posting an article in another user page "showerscience" i was driven by the burning need to right a heinous wrong in the basic public understanding of how showers work.

Previous old research into showers has focused on the shower head, but this new effort to give some substantial existance to the new knowledge is encumbered by a well trammeled path that has so far prevented an objective knowledge concerning this showers.

The subject matter being "shower science" is currently in the process of being deleted which is a severe blow thus preventing some tried and tested concepts from being readily available to the public.

As the developer of a truly "hybrid" showering system, i hope the same will not happen to hybrid shower.

There are already considerable forces which would have us use more energy and resources for the purposes of short term gain.

My vision is that "Hybrid shower" be a medium for further findings and knowledge to be added to this "new topic".

"The content of Hybrid shower" is like the content of "Shower science" at this time(An introduction to the topic) until i am adopted by a more experienced wiki who can help me include my further material on this topic into an informative page loaded with new and practical information and diagrams and photos for anyone who wishes to research, make a valid contribution, or improve a previous ones.--Hybrid Shower 08:18, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. I am a recently regustered user from the British Midlands and have spent the last couple of weeks finding my way around - making some edits, creating a few articles, etc. I plan to be more of an editor rather than someone who writes articles, but I will create an article if I find a subject which is not covered on Wikipedia and meets its notability requirements. I discovered Wikipedia around this time last year after seeing it featured on a news programme (although I forget which one it was now) and regularly use it as a point of reference. It's a great place and I'm looking forward to being a regular contributor. Cheers Paul20070 17:03, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I discovered Wikipedia only a few days ago (thanks to an on-line BBC article), and I've now been spending far too much time exploring! I haven't actually tried editing or adding anything yet, but I hope to shortly.

I'm a tour guide with a natural history tour company, and spend much of my life wandering around in the great outdoors. With a university degree in biology and a fairly extensive knowledge of birds, I hope to make some contributions -- in fact, it was the listed request for articles on several species of Australian birds that caused me to join up! I've done quite a bit of writing for printed media (magazines and newspapers), so this will represent a bit of a leap in my writing. MeegsC 19:31, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reverend Canon (John) Eric Gethyn-Jones MBE TD MA FSA[edit]

Subject/headline preview: (Reverend Canon (John) Eric Gethyn-Jones MBE TD MA FSA )

Eric Gethyn-Jones was born in 1909 the son of Daniel Gethyn-Jones, a clergyman who would also in later life be honoured with honorary canonship of Gloucester Cathedral. Educated at the Crypt School in Gloucester and Oxford, he embarked on an active sporting career which culminated in his playing hockey for Wales at international level. At this point he met Vivienne, also an international sportswoman (hockey, for Wales), whom he married in 1936.

He had chosen to enter the Church after considering a commission in the Army, and served as a curate in Gloucester before being appointed Rector of Dymock in the north Forest of Dean. With the situation in Europe growing ominous by 1937, Eric enlisted in the Territorial Army as Chaplain to the 5th Battalion, the 43rd Regiment, the Gloucestershire Regiment – the ‘Glorious Glosters’. He served throughout the Second World War, through the Dunkirk retreat and the Normandy Landings and on into Germany, earning the love and respect of those to whom he ministered. During the Normandy Landings he won the Territorial Decoration for his bravery in rescuing a number of his stricken comrades from the water when their troopship was mined. Following demobilisation, he returned to Dymock, concentrating on his pastoral duties and on his love of history. He wrote numerous scholarly volumes about the archaeology and history of Dymock and Kempley. During this period he was appointed as Honorary Chaplain to Her Majesty the Queen, and also served as Rural Dean of the North Forest. In 1967 he reluctantly left his home of thirty years to move to Berkeley, but soon found himself immersed in the great history of this ancient borough. During his time here he was elected President of the Bristol and Gloucester Archeological Society and made a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries. His historical research unearthed the fact that the town of Berkeley had originally enjoyed Borough status, and he was instrumental in having the borough reinstated with new Letters Patent and a new armorial crest. He enjoyed further acclaim for his erudite authorship of books on Dr Edward Jenner, discoverer of Vaccination, and on the Berkeley connection with the United States. He was even billed alongside Elizabeth Taylor (then Burton) when he was joint guest of honour at a Thanksgiving celebration at the Berkeley Plantation in Virginia. Canon Gethyn-Jones retired in 1979, but continued to revisit war graves throughout France and Germany, so that he could pass on a photograph to those who had lost loved ones during the War. Sadly his wife Vivienne passed away after a short illness in 1990, at which time he himself was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. He finally passed away peacefully in November 1995, leaving myself, my brother Christopher, my sister Angela and three grandchildren. He is interred in the family plot at the old Church of St Michael, Kempley, which is now a National Heritage property. Lead Lovebirds: The Poems

trousdalefan[edit]

I found out about Wikipedia from just doing basic Yahoo! and Google searches. I now use it for almost all my searches and I'm constantly amazed at all the info I find.

What makes Wikipedia so special , in my view, is its self-governance and user driven content.

My reason for starting an account here is I'm doing a research project on the famed Trousdale Estates section of Beverly Hills, CA - past, present and future. This is an oft forgotten about section of the city, despite its storied past! The views, location, safety and security make it one of the most fascinating tracts of expensive homes in the world. And the classic, mid century architecture that dominate the landscape set it apart from the rest of Beverly Hills.

Any contributions -- whether it be photos, quotes or facts -- would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - A gasoline tanker crashed[edit]

Refering to: OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - A gasoline tanker crashed and burst into flames near the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge on Sunday,

The story says that the fire "melted" the steel of the overpass. I thought gasoline didn't burn hot enough to melt steel. Can anyone help me with this? What is the temperature of gasoline burning in the open air, NOT under pressure? Yes, the steel would get hot, but could it get hot enough, to lose enough structural integrity to allow the overpass to collapse without another fuel source? IE; acetylene burns - add oxygen it burns hotter. I'm obviously not a scientist, but have spent some time in metal machining & fabrication shops over the years. I'm just trying to get my head around the "gasoline melting steel" thing.

Thank you much, gr8aliasGr8alias 07:11, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
