Hello and thanks to whoever picks this up! I've listed this article for peer review because I may potentially take this article up for Featured Article status in the future. It has been reviewed and listed as a Good Article, and I just want to see what would be the best actions to take in fixing it up, and what information needs to be included/excluded, stuff like that. ̶O̶n̶ ̶t̶o̶p̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶,̶ ̶I̶ ̶a̶m̶ ̶a̶l̶s̶o̶ ̶w̶a̶i̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶s̶o̶m̶e̶o̶n̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶p̶i̶c̶k̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶u̶p̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶a̶ ̶c̶o̶p̶y̶e̶d̶i̶t̶,̶ ̶s̶o̶ ̶m̶a̶n̶y̶ ̶c̶h̶a̶n̶g̶e̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶a̶r̶t̶i̶c̶l̶e̶'̶s̶ ̶g̶r̶a̶m̶m̶a̶r̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶s̶e̶n̶t̶e̶n̶c̶e̶ ̶s̶t̶r̶u̶c̶t̶u̶r̶e̶s̶ ̶w̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶t̶a̶k̶e̶ ̶p̶l̶a̶c̶e̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶m̶a̶y̶ ̶o̶r̶ ̶m̶a̶y̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶b̶e̶ ̶a̶ ̶h̶u̶g̶e̶ ̶p̶r̶i̶o̶r̶i̶t̶y̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶r̶e̶v̶i̶e̶w̶.̶ (Copyedit finished)

[edit]Sorry for the long wait. My thoughts, broken into rough categories:
- Prose:
- I'm not really a prose guru, but once the below issues have been addressed I'll finish up a copyedit. Getting another seasoned copyeditor might help, and I've found doing Tony1's exercises aren't good for creating amazing prose but definitely great for helping to be clear and concise; ultimately since you don't want someone to start changing and possibly jeopardizing source-text integrity it's something you have to shoulder most yourself.
- Roar was a box office bomb (despite popularity abroad), with a worldwide gross of $2 million against a $17 million budget.—for the lead, I don't quite get this sentence. You say it was only released internationally in the previous sentence, and then say despite that popularity it was a box office failure, which doesn't immediately track.
- Hank sees the attack and tries to stop him, but Togar kills them both and returns to the house to fight Robbie.—I assume what you mean is Togar killed the two poachers, but it reads as Hank and Prentiss getting killed.
- Marshall and Hedren wrote a script for the project, whose working title was Lions, Lions and More Lions.—there's nothing else about the script or writing? Feels like this single sentence being left alone needs a paragraph to go with it.
- Will Hutchins and Zakes Mokae play committee members.—is there a reason this is in block text while the other roles are just bullets? If it's not in the credits they need to be cited to another source.
- Avoid weasel words—e.g., It has also been called the most expensive home movie ever made—who called it that?
- I'm not entirely sure how to square however, it was delayed a number of times over a three-year period. with the following sentence, which says it took five years to complete.
- Although she was replaced with Patsy (a friend)—Patsy who?
- the paragraph starting with The Tanzania scenes were filmed at the Acton ranch, where many of the animals were being raised feels disjointed. You start talking about filming at the Acton ranch, but then switch to talking about shots filmed in Africa, then back to filming at the ranch.
- Personally, since the subsections aren't that long, I wouldn't have the dividers for financial issues and possibly the injuries section.
- and worked with the National Philharmonic Orchestra.—does this mean he just recorded the soundtrack with the Philharmonic or they were involved in the writing somehow?
- I think the reception section needs to be refactored and reorganized. Right now it's mostly just a laundry list of reviewers giving opinions one after another; I think it would read a lot better if you grouped reception into categories. At the very least, you have to vary up sentence structure so it's not just "Walter Burns of The Morning Post said blah. Amy Archer said blah blah."
- Images:
- I'm not sure there's enough fair-use justification for the non-free images File:Roar on set.jpg, File:N'chi Ya Nani sample.ogg, and File:Roar film poster.jpeg. The first doesn't really show what it purports to (and I'm not sure adds much to the prose to explain why it was so difficult to film the animals.) The second just doesn't have much justification in the article—the soundtrack is only mentioned in that one section, and apparently isn't the subject of much critical commentary. Finally the text from the film poster is discussed in prose, and a small release doesn't really meet identifiability thresholds like regular movie posters for inclusion.
- References and comprehensiveness:
- What makes Cinemastance, CutPrintFilm, Birth.Movies.Death, scvhistory.com, and Flixist high-quality, reliable sources?
- The citations all need to be cleaned up and standardized. You have websites sometimes referred to with their .coms and uncapitalized, sometimes capitalized without the TLD, sometimes with publisher info, sometimes without. Since Paul and Gambin are used relatively little in the article I'd just condense the bibliography into the notes and use {{rp}} for page citations.
- Is there a reason sources like Hendren's book on the subject mentioned in the article aren't used?
Overall I think the article is in decent shape, but it needs some substantial work before it's ready for FAC. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 14:59, 23 December 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hey not a problem, sometimes it will take as long as it takes to get back to someone and that's ok...
I saw your first three issues earlier when you posted them on my talk page, and I think I fixed/clarified the sentences:
[...] it was released internationally by Filmways Pictures. Despite performing well in Germany and Japan, Roar was a box office bomb, with a worldwide gross of $2 million against a $17 million budget.
- Fixed confusion as to who gets killed by Togar.
- I also added a paragraph regarding the script-writing process like you said to include.
Since then, I fixed the Will Hutchins and Zakes Mokae issue, along with a few misplaced sentences you addressed above. The article has been provided with the origin of "most dangerous movie ever made" and who called it "the most expensive home movie". I took out reference to Griffith's best friend "Patsy" and replaced it with "she was replaced by a friend", hope this doesn't sound weasely, but if it does I will immediately change/remove it. I also have removed the Cinemastance, CutPrintFilm, Birth.Movies.Death, scvhistory.com, and Flixist sources...but I have a question as to whether I should keep or remove a citation from the legacy section for an interview with Hedren for the Daily Mail. While the source is known to be unreliable, it is only used in the article's passage for what she said and nothing more, but I can easily replace it something else.
Oh and I removed the two non-free images and the audio file.
Will address the other issues you have listed here soon. -NowIsntItTime(chats)(doings) 20:58, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hello David, and Happy Holidays!
- I've fixed most prose issues, and everything except for inclusion of Hedren's book The Cats of Shambala, which I will probably have to try and place an order for and take some time to read in early January. I'll have you do a copyedit afterwards, and then finally submit it as a candidate. In the meantime, if you want to take a look at the most recent edit and look over my work, then tell me here or on my talk page if you see any more obstacles, feel free to do so. -NowIsntItTime(chats)(doings) 22:05, 25 December 2019 (UTC)
