"pervasive gaming"[edit]

What is "pervasive gaming"?

AdventureGamers.com says "Game academics have coined the term “pervasive games” to describe games that pervade into reality through e-mail correspondence, fake websites or location-based activities." Halo 2 and Perfect Dark are two examples. Froglars the frog 10:59, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't call Halo or Perfect Dark anything at all like pervasive games. I can't recall the name of it, but there was one of these a few years ago. Basically, you sign up and give them your contact information. At periodic intervals you'd get a phone call with a recorded message that gives you information, or an email with a cryptic clue, or a text message telling you "Be at the corner of Main and 2nd at noon," where you'd witness a staged argument between two actors playing characters within the game. The ultimate goal is to unlock all the secrets (usually on the website) and solve the puzzle. The whole thing is designed to immerse you in the "game," as if you really were inside the events that they're staging. -- Kesh 21:26, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The game you refer to was called (I think) Majestic (video game). gnfnrf 20:54, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like our article is titled Alternate reality game. -- Kesh 21:58, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, and Halo 2 has an alternate reality game. Halo 3 has one too. --JDitto 01:50, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question about the WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 roster.[edit]

Hello,

On www.ign.com I saw a confirmed roster of the multi-console game WWE Smackdown! vs Raw 2008. But when I read the 'WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008' article on wikipedia.org, I saw some superstars (wrestlers) on the roster I didn't see on the roster published on www.ign.com. My questions are : Who confirmed the roster shown in wikipedia's article 'WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008', and is it an official roster or not ?

Thank you very much.

Best regards, Ramoslav.

P.S.: WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 could also be called : WWE Smackdown! vs Raw 2008, WWE Smackdown! vs. Raw 2008, Smackdown! vs. Raw 2008, Smackdown! vs Raw 2008 or Smackdown vs Raw 2008. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramoslav (talkcontribs) 22:44, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
