[edit]MLB All-Star Game
[edit]I can't find this anywhere, perhaps I am not looking in right spot. I've read All-Star game article and the records page: Who has made the MLB all-star team with the most teams? I ran across Moises Alou doing it with five teams and thought that must be close to the record? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.206.71.72 (talk) 03:55, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
- I can't imagine anyone making the All-Star game with more teams. Major League Baseball All-Star Game records does not mention this record. The first guy I though of who might beat it would have been Gary Sheffield, who made 9 all-star games with 5 teams (1992 & 1993 Padres, 1996 & 1998 Marlins, 1999 & 2000 Dodgers, 2003 Braves, 2004 & 2005 Yankees), thus only tying Alou. Maybe Baseball Bugs can chime in, but I can't think of any really good player who played for that many teams. --Jayron32 04:24, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
- The page "Miscellaneous All-Star Game records" of the Baseball Almanach [1] has this blurb at the end which confirms the answer above: "Did you know that Gary Sheffield of the San Diego Padres (1992 & 1993), Florida Marlins (1993, 1996 & 1998), Los Angeles Dodgers (1998, 1999 & 2000), Atlanta Braves (2003) and New York Yankees (2004 & 2005), AND Moises Alou of the Montreal Expos (1994), Florida Marlins (1997), Houston Astros (1998 & 2001), Chicago Cubs (2004) and San Francisco Giants (2005) has represented the most teams over a career during All-Star Games?" A few players have represented 4 different teams, including Goose Gossage (Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees and San Diego Padres). --Xuxl (talk) 14:13, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
countdown
[edit]If I'm on TV show countdown with the lovely Rachel Riley and before the last letters round (i.e. including the final numbers round and the conundrum) I'm winning, can I select all consonants in the final letters round so that my opponent can't score enough points to put them in a position where if they won the numbers and the conundrum they would win? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.132.25.208 (talk) 18:38, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
