August 11

[edit]

The Forest green article says that the color Forest green is one of the colors of the Forest Green Rovers F.C., but in that article, the colors provided do not include forest green. Which is in error? 69.62.243.48 (talk) 21:14, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Forest Green is the name of a local area where the team is located, read the article. It refers to a grassy green in a forest, not the shade of green named by Crayola. μηδείς (talk) 04:25, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • That doesn't rule out the possibility of forest green being a team color of the football club, even though the club article mentions only lime green.
  • It doesn't matter whether the area is named after the shade of green or not. Usually areas are not named after colors, which is probably why you were able to make that assertive and irrelevant guess with such confidence.
  • Forest green seems the obvious choice of strip for a club named "Forest Green" - except it's not very visible. Possibly lime green is used to clad the players and forest green is used by the club elsewhere.
  • Don't WP:BITE.  Card Zero  (talk) 18:13, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The claim has no reference, and was made by User:Aeron Valderrama in 2006, seemingly as an afterthought to the fact that forest green is one of the school colors of the University of the Philippines (Aeron Valderrama is a Filipino). So, I'll just replace "Forest Green Rovers F.C." with "The Nottingham Hoods". Eventually somebody will delete the whole section because WP:NOTCATALOG.  Card Zero  (talk) 18:45, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
