Conditioner

[edit]

Do you have to use conditioner after shampooing? is it important? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.33.115.108 (talk) 01:03, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

We cannot give legal advice here. But I almost never use conditioner and nothing has happened to me so far. 2602:24A:DE47:BB20:50DE:F402:42A6:A17D (talk) 03:26, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We have no proscription of giving capillary advice.  --Lambiam 09:49, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I too do not use a hair conditioner these days despite some pretty extreme COVID hair. A brushing seems to work OK for me. But Hair conditioner provides a lot of information for readers who want to delve deeper into this topic. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 07:53, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The main point of using conditioner is to make the hair easier to comb or brush. If that is not an issue, it is probably not important. A secondary function can be, depending on the type of conditioner, to protect the hair against drying out after the protective oils have been washed out by shampooing. Whether this is of any importance depends on your hair type, and whether a particular conditioner helps against dry and brittle hair depends on the type of conditioner. Dry hair can also be a symptom of an underlying health problem, so if you notice a change by which your hair becomes severely more dry than it used to be, this should be reason to see a doctor.  --Lambiam 10:23, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Grandfather clock message board

[edit]

Can anyone find an online forum or message board pertaining to grandfather clock repair? Two of my rentals have grandfather clocks that didn't work well. I got them mostly working, but I'd like to learn more so I can get them completely working. The sites I've found are dead. The only questions left in the last year are the ones that I posted. 97.82.165.112 (talk) 13:45, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Clock Repair | NAWCC Forums seems to be active although not specific to grandfather clocks. Alansplodge (talk) 16:46, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Two people posted something today. That is very active for a clock forum. 97.82.165.112 (talk) 17:57, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Timezone.com has a watchmaking and repair forum, whose contents are also probably relevant to clocks, although clocks are likely to be easier to work on because of their larger size. They also had an online class in watch repair though I don't know if that is still running. 2602:24A:DE47:BB20:50DE:F402:42A6:A17D (talk) 00:15, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
