Sexuality of trans people

[edit]

If a trans male was attracted to females, what sexuality would the trans male be, homosexual or heterosexual? Minkai(rawr!)(see where I screwed up) 20:43, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why only those two to choose from? What about pansexual? Sapiosexual? all the other sexuals? Are they exlusively attracted to females? What gender do they themselves identify as? Not enough information to answer. Nanonic (talk) 21:18, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The trans male is attracted only to females. Minkai(rawr!)(see where I screwed up) 21:30, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Per Sexual orientation#Gender, transgender, cisgender, and conformance, transgender people go by the sexual orientation corresponding with their gender identity. Therefore, a trans man attracted only to women would identify as straight. clpo13(talk) 21:41, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
They are whatever they feel they are, and that is entirely personal and will vary from person to person. These kinds of questions fundamentally misunderstand how sexuality and identity work, and are unanswerable. The answer above may be correct in many cases but will certainly be incorrect in others, and should not be relied on in any way. Fgf10 (talk) 23:28, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
What Fgf10 said. If you want to know how someone identifies, either in terms of gender or sexuality, you need to find out from that person. Asking randos on the internet "how is it supposed to work" is unlikely to give any useful answers, and will lead you to believe that people can only fit into certain predefined categories. Sexuality and gender are complex continuums and defy easy categorization; indeed those categorizations generally are what lead to all of the problems we see around the matter. If you want to know what any one person is like, pay attention to what they say about themselves. If they don't tell you, it's not your business. If you want to know what all people are like, you can't. --Jayron32 12:02, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Homosexual is not a statistically good guess for a human picked at random from the set of all trans males attracted to the female gender and/or sex but hey you never know. Only some of this set considers themselves heterosexual. If this is about a specific human who doesn't say then the reason for them not saying may or may not be cause they don't want you to know. Even they don't need to know so you don't. Sagittarian Milky Way (talk) 21:41, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
