Wikipedia:Songs about Wikipedia/March of Wikipedia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This song is based on the Turkish national anthem and created by Champion (talk · contribs) as a poetical motivation to Wikipedians comprising various themes such as policy-abiding, counter-vandalism and adminship, etc. It also shows the spirit of good-faithed Wikipedians as a "nation".

Lyrics

[edit]
Fear not! This puzzle ball that proudly ripples in this glorious dawn, shall not fade,
Before the last article ablaze within my wiki has been extinguished.
For that is the star of my people, and it will forever shine,
It is mine, and solely belongs to my good-faithed nation.
Frown not, I beseech you, oh thou coy puzzle ball!
Smile upon my heroic community! Why the anger, why the rage?
Our articles which we wrote for you shall not be worthy otherwise;
For neutrality is the absolute right of my faithful nation.
I have been free since the beginning and forever shall be so,
What madman shall put me in chains? I defy the very idea!
I'm like the roaring flood; trampling my mistakes and overcoming my fears,
I'll cleanup the messy, report the baddies, and still work in good faith!
The minds of those baddies might be protected with walls of steel.
But I have borders guarded by the might bosom of a 'Pedian!
Bellow out, do not be afraid! And think: how can this powerful mind of ours ever be extinguished,
By that battered hungry beast that you call a "troll"?
My friend! Leave not my home wiki to the hands of villainous men!
Stop the baddies coming in your way! Halt this disgraceful assault!
For soon shall come the joyous days of the admins' promise;
Who knows? Perhaps tomorrow? Perhaps even sooner!
View not the millions you pass by as mere text- recognize it!
And think about the thousands of newbies who nobly are willing to help us!
You were a newbie at the beginning, hurt not the many now!
Unhand not, even when you're the most trusted, this paradise of a wiki.
Who would not devote their time for this paradise of a wiki?
Janitors shall arrive shall one simply request it! Janitors!
May They whack me with a trout if They will,
But let Them not deprive me of my one true home wiki in the world wide web!
Oh glorious Janitors, bureaucrats, and arbitrators, the sole wish of my pain-stricken heart is that,
No vandal's hand should ever touch the bosom of my sacred autobiography.
These policies and pillars are the fundamental principles of our community,
And may their noble sound prevail thunderously across my encyclopedia.
For only then, shall my noble barnstar, if there is one, be displayed on my sacred page,
And messages of appreciation for my contributions shall then be widely regarded,
And I will become one of the top ones,
Perhaps only then shall I be finally voted and at long last be trusted by the rest.
So ripple and wave like the bright dawning sky, oh thou glorious puzzle ball,
So ripple and wave like the bright dawning sky, oh thou glorious puzzle ball,
So that our every last article written may finally be blessed and worthy!
Neither you nor my kin shall ever be extinguished!
For co-operation is the absolute right of my ever-free emblem,
For verifiability is the absolute right of my courageous community,
For neutrality is the absolute right of my good-faithed nation!
