Queenie, the waterskiing elephant[edit]

This is a submission that perked my interest: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Queenie water skiing elephant. It still has copyright issues that need cleanup, but I think it has a good case for notability.

But problem: there's already Queenie (elephant), about an elephant from the Melbourne Zoo. Seems Queenie is a popular name for elephants. Any suggestions for renaming? Queenie (waterskiing elephant), or something else? -- Eclipsed (talk) (COI Declaration) 10:56, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Queenie (waterskiing elephant) sounds good to me. We'll need a disambiguating hatnote for the other Queenie, too. Huon (talk) 11:32, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have uploaded a picture to wikipedia commons but I don't know how to upload it to my article. Could you please help? Tarique21 (talk) 10:58, 21 July 2012 (UTC)Tarique21 Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Ahmed_Hossain[reply]

The picture tutorial gives a detailed explanation of the necessary wikicode. Basically, you add something along the lines of [[File:FileName.jpg|thumb|left|Caption]], substituting the name of the file you uploaded for "FileName.jpg".
But your article needs reliable sources much more than it needs an image. You give some sources, and they might well be reliable, but you provide too little information about them. For example, "Colourful District of Rangpur" is unknown to Google Books - is it a book? When was it published, and do we know the ISBN? What pages are relevant to the article? What part of the article is this source used for? To answer that last question, you should use inline citations and footnotes. I could find Bengal Politics: Documents of the Raj, but it does not mention Hossain, for all I can tell, and neither does The last decade of undivided Bengal: parties, politics & personalities (whose title was misspelt in the article). This is the notice I received. I am confused not sure if the codes are incorrect or the verification or sources need to be checked. This is my first time doing this and I really want to get this done correct.

I have moved your article to AfC, where is should be. The new location is the title of this section and a link to the article will be in your sandbox.  :- ) Don 16:39, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Since this is a article on a living person, there are certain rules that must be followed. Primarily all information must substantiated by verifiable, reliable, third party sources or references. Inline citations should also be used. You can find how to do this and what is needed at WP:BLP and WP:CITE. You may like to look at the article of another musician for example: Emilie_Autumn. This is rated a 'Good" article, even though your article will not be this large, it is a good reference for what a good article should look like. If have specific questions please don't hesitate to ask a reviewer or here. Good luck.  :- ) Don 16:53, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can somone please make the top bit an infobox I cant do it — Preceding unsigned comment added by Therealtimelord401 (talkcontribs) 19:21, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have done so, but several issues arose: Firstly, images must be uploaded to either Wikipedia via Special:Upload, or, if they come with a free license, to the Wikimedia Commons via their Upload Wizard. The latter is preferable; non-free images must be used in at least one article, and drafts do not count. Once the image has been uploaded, the template documetation explains how to add it to the infobox. Secondly, the {{infobox church}} template sorts churches by church organization, not by county. If you know the district to which the circuit belongs, please add that informatio to the infobox.
But the most pressing issue is the lack of any reliable secondary sources whatsoever. A church member is not a published source, the church website is a primary source. Most of the information isn't even verifiable. But we need significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject to establich its notability. Maybe the church has received some non-trivial newspaper coverage? Huon (talk) 20:01, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
