[edit]

I would like to know if the following actions I have taken regarding a redirect issue with the title of my draft page are proper. I am also putting a copy of this on the talk page of the article for the benefit of the person who reviews this article, because I am not certain the issues involved will be readily apparent:

1. When I submitted the page for review, I was surprised to see "Warning: The page Tango Argentino (musical) redirects to Argentine tango. Please verify that it is not a copy of this submission and that this page does not need to be moved to a different title." Of course, the similar titles require disambiguation, so something like that would naturally show up.

2. The problem arose when I examined the page Argentine tango. There is an anchor in the wiki markup which I believe is causing a redirect with my draft page. The anchor appears on the following line in the page: In 1983, the dance show Tango Argentino, staged by Claudio Segovia and Hector Orezzolli, opened in Paris, France

3. The crux of my question is this: After looking through the page Argentine tango, I could find no reason for the {{Anchor|Tango Argentino (musical)}}. Therefore, I removed it. It does not seem to have affected the function of the page. If I acted improperly, please let me know.

4. I did check the history on the page and {{Anchor|Tango Argentino (musical)}} has been present on the page for some time. In my opinion it is a result of a copy and paste from another site that had the anchor imbedded for another purpose.

At any rate, if my actions were improper, please let me know. cc'd to talk page for the reviewer's benefit.

Hi there! I'm looking for some help to understand why this submission was declined, and what can be done to bring it up to WP standards. It looks like there were a couple of earlier submissions from someone with interest in the topic. I've gone through the article, cleaned it up, and also added references to well-known, credible sources with millions of daily views. But it looks like it was declined again.

I don't want to spam WP with article submissions, but I do believe this is notable, and it's sponsored by a reputable open-source organization (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_Software_Foundation). There is in fact a link at the bottom of that page to an void page where this article can go.

Thanks for your help and advice!

I think the reviewers have indicated why in their Decline notices. It's a weakly-sourced advertisement by an author with a clear Conflict of Interest. You can, of course, resubmit, but you may well get the same response from a fourth reviewer. KJP1 (talk) 05:44, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi KJP, thanks for responding. I feel like I'm not explaining this well, and I don't know how to fix that.

  • The person who submitted it does appear to use the product mentioned, that's true, but there isn't a relationship between the two organizations. None of the sources linked to mention the submitter's company.
  • The Apache Software Foundation is a reputable open-source software organization with its own page on Wikipedia, and not a commercial entity. Many other, similar, projects, have their own pages linked to from that page.
  • In addition, several of the sources referred to in the article have millions of daily views, and are specifically about this project. It's well-known in the data science and data engineering community.

Any thoughts on how I can explain this better when this is resubmitted? Or is your sense that this doesn't matter? Thank you for your help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.21.77.33 (talk) 14:00, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
