The contest department of the Christianity WikiProject aims to provide additional incentive to increse the quality of our Christianity articles by offering a friendly competition for project members making improvements to them.
Standing contest
[edit]How it works
[edit]This contest has a fairly simple structure. At this point, the project is administered by the project coordinators, although that is eligible for change.
Ending class | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
Beginning class |
Start/C | B/GA | A/FA | |
None/Stub | +1 | +6 | +16 | |
Start/C | +5 | +15 | ||
B/GA | +10 |
1. The contest is broken up into time periods, running from the first to the last day of each month. Editors nominate the articles they intend on improving over the course of the month and have until the end of the month to make improvements to that article. 2. Early the following month, a designated party, at this point one of the project coordinators, checks the entries and awards points on the basis of the actual improvements made, using the project's quality scale as a guideline. At their discretion, coordinators may include points from A-Class and FA reviews which close slightly after the last day of the contest period.
- The coordinators tally the nominators' points totals, and determine the monthly, quarterly, and annual winners.
Contest entries
[edit]Please note that this section is now a separate, transcluded sub-page, which you might like to watchlist separately. Thanks! |
The beginning class of the article is the classification at the beginning of the month. Please add entries in the following form:
* {{la|Article name}} (Beginning class) ~~~~
For the scoring period ending 31 May

Special contests
[edit]There are a few standing special contests as well, with rules slightly different from those above.
Monthly challenge
[edit]There is the monthly challenge. Every month, we receive a list, which can be seen at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/Popular pages of the 1000 articles related to this project which have gotten the most views during the previous month. Every month, there will be a challenge to improve some of the articles listed. This challenge will use the same point system as that above, but will give an extra five points for each article.

Core topics challenge
[edit]For this challenge, once again, the same point totals outlined above will be used as a baseline. There are a few differences, however.
- For this particular challenge, there is no need to list the article in advance. Simply list it below as
- This challenge only applies to those articles listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/Core topics work group/Topic list.
- In addition to the regular points, an additional 10 points will be given to editors improving these selected articles.
