Description
[edit]This project talks about the fantasy genre. I wanted to give the genre it's own WikiProject instead of a section in the WikiProject Speculative Fiction RainbowSilver2ndBackup (talk) 19:30, 24 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
List of important pages and categories for this proposed group
- Fantasy (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
- Category:Fantasy (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) (most of the are subcategories)
- List of WikiProjects currently on the talk pages of those articles
- Please invite these and any other similar groups to join the discussion about this proposal. See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Council/Directory to find similar WikiProjects.
- Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
- There is no WikiProject that talk entirely about fantasy even though some exist through WikiProjects of other topics such as "Fantasy novels".

[edit]Also, specify whether or not you would join the project.

- Support. I already regularly edit such topics, so would sign up for it if it existed. I would not have been opposed to it remaining a task force, but WP:WikiProject Speculative fiction was WP:MFDed out of existence, as redundant and unused. Fantasy is a major enough genre that it will stand on its own., along with the projects on sci-fi and horror. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 22:50, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion
[edit]@SpinnerLaserz:, @SMcCandlish: Because this has been discussed before, at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Novels/Fantasy task force#Why not just, Wikipedia: WikiProject Fantasy, and because this overlaps significantly with that large 80-member task force, I think it makes sense to go there to get broad consensus on this proposal, and on if/how it would affect that TF, before proceeding. Would 30 days be enough time to get that consensus? UnitedStatesian (talk) 15:49, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
