Este curso propone el análisis y repaso de algunas de las corrientes principales de formación nacional y de identificación cultural en Hispanoamérica desde las culturas indígenas precolombinas hasta el encuentro y la conquista, la colonización y el desarrollo nacional del siglo XIX, las manifestaciones del legado colonial en el siglo XX y la época contemporánea. El curso se organizará en torno a algunos problemas claves: las ideas geográfico-ideológicas sobre “América,” las mezclas culturales y religiosas, el indigenismo, las polémicas político-culturales y las definiciones de las identidades (regionales, nacionales, étnicas y de género). Partiendo de las lecturas, se establecerán vínculos entre la historia, la política y las expresiones culturales como la literatura, la pintura, la fotografía, la música y el cine. A diferencia de los cursos que tocan solamente la historia o la literatura, etc., este curso se dicta en español, y como tal, se concentra mucho en los textos primarios y secundarios producidos en los países hispanamericanos. En fin, este curso propone preparar al estudiante con un conocimiento general pero profundo de algunos aspectos importantes producidos por y provenientes de Hispanoamérica.

Check, verify/eliminate, and add all current sources translated from original article to your translation. Add 2 new hyperlinks to information and add 3 new sources that support information in your translation. At least one of the three new sources must be from a book or article found at the HBLL library. All three sources must be from legitimate and reputable sources (check assignment page).
