Join the NYC 2019 World AIDS Day Wikipedia editing party from 7-9pm Monday December 2, 2019 cancelled, snow at the Columbia University Medical Center! At this event anyone can commemorate World AIDS Day by sharing information in Wikipedia about HIV/AIDS or any related issues, including LGBT+ topics and information in support of stakeholder communities.

Come as you are! Anyone with information in mind to share at the event should feel free to bring sources to cite. Anyone who is curious and wants to support, observe, or discuss, then please join!

Getting started[edit]

  1. Create a Wikipedia account
  2. While logged into your Wikipedia account, visit the course dashboard. If prompted, click "join course". This permits identification of your Wikipedia edits.
  3. Edit Wikipedia by first finding a reliable source of information outside of Wikipedia. Read that source and identify a fact you like.
  4. Expect that during the event, you will take information from your source, add it to the Wikipedia article, and cite the source.
