Replace importScriptURI with mw.loader.load - importScriptURI is deprecated. The content model should also be changed to JavaScript. Qwerfjkltalk 21:49, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Plastikspork: these seem to have your name on them - got a sandbox version you want released? — xaosflux Talk 01:20, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The mw.loader.load change is a no-brainer, but changing the content model would probably mean that I won't be able to edit the code anymore. This is not a huge deal since I can just fork the code in my personal userspace, but it would make it so only interface editors could edit it (if I understand the policy for the javascript content model). @Plastikspork: if you are the sole maintainer, it could go to User:Plastikspork/AutoEd/formatter.js or the like? If it is very popular, it should prob get the normal amount of security controls added though. — xaosflux Talk 16:21, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Xaosflux: The project was started with Drilnoth which is the reason why it wasn't put into either one of our user spaces. To be honest, I don't really mind if I can't edit it any more. I don't use it and I only respond to bug fixes as any other admin with a knowledge of javascript would. So, if someone wants to change to content model, that's perfectly fine with me. I could probably become an interface editor in the future if there is a need for me to make a lot of changes to it. But, I am perfectly happy with letting others do it for me, and I do keep a copy in my userspace for testing. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 16:27, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Changing the content model wouldn't make you unable to edit the page, as automatic protection of JavaScript pages only applies in MediaWiki namespace. * Pppery * it has begun... 01:33, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks (and User: of course :)) Done! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 18:34, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
