Uninstall button[edit]

Very cool. Is there an "uninstall" button for scripts? Dabomb87 (talk) 20:14, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's on my todo list. I have 92 items on my todo list at the moment, containing some crucial features that are currently missing. Keep the suggestions/bug reports coming, though! Gary King (talk · scripts) 20:19, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cache[edit]

When Script Installer installs a script, does it automatically clear the browser cache, or does that still have to be initiated by the user? Dabomb87 (talk) 03:04, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It automatically clears the cache. The user does not have to do this anymore. Gary King (talk · scripts) 05:09, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do not use $[edit]

Since MediaWiki 1.17 we have $ ( = jQuery) ( = $j from before 1.17). Since more and more global and user scripts are expected to use $, I think it would be a good idea to not redefine $ in your script User:Gary King/script installer core.js: after executing that script $ turns into function $(a) {return document.getElementById(a);}. I found this issue when investigating the problem with one of my scripts. — AlexSm 21:09, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks; function removed. At worst I should have added a conditional to check if the function already existed first since it's so common. Gary King (talk · scripts) 03:47, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reload error[edit]

Net an error were.it fails to reload the page after Insta Long the script, it just says 'reloading...' ― Qwerfjkl|   18:59, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

unmaintained?[edit]

This appears to be unmaintained -- should we mark it as that? Pinging creator @Gary, who seems to be going through a less-active period. —valereee (talk) 11:37, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah this project is unmaintained. The script was never completed. Please mark this project as such, since I don't know what template I'm supposed to use to do that. Gary (talk · scripts) 17:32, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I'll poke around, I'm sure I've seen a template that specifically says that somewhere. :D Hope whatever's draining your time/interest lets you become more active again at some point! —valereee (talk) 17:54, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
