No worries. It's an issue with RedWarn, something encoding-related, I guess. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:33, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
Looking into this. Chlod (RW • say hi!) 22:12, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
This is strange, I will try to reproduce this and see what will happen. Something similar has happened before, where "-" (the en dash) is rendered as if it was in Windows-1252. User3749 (talk) 17:07, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

User:RedWarn/.js error: Error: Invalid argument provided to upgrade MDL element.

Hi there! I'm writing to let you know, that there are a significant amount of errors being logged from this script coming from diff pages and edit URLs. Is this script meant to run on these URLs?

Would be happy to help fix this if the code was unminified, but am not sure what the update process is for this script. Jon (WMF) (talk) 16:28, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

Rollback

Would be possible to have rollback-like reverting enables for non-rollbackers, and rollback enabled for rollback - I see no reason why a user with rollback rights wouldn't enable their use. ― Qwerfjkl | 𝕋𝔸𝕃𝕂  (please use {{reply to|Qwerfjkl}} on reply) 21:56, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

@Qwerfjkl: There already is a rollback option for rollbackers, you just need rollback permissions to enable the option. ―sportzpikachu my talkcontribs 01:20, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
@Sportzpikachu I know, but it seems pointless to have it as an option as opposed to RedWarn detecting your user rights (if that is possible). ― Qwerfjkl | 𝕋𝔸𝕃𝕂  (please use {{reply to|Qwerfjkl}} on reply) 06:43, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
@Qwerfjkl: It does detect it, if you have not touched the setting and have rollback, it will prompt you to change it. It only shows for rollbackers though. ―sportzpikachu my talkcontribs 08:44, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

RedWarn On Mobile?

Can we use RedWarn in mobile devices? If so, how? I would like to know if there is a way to do that. Thank you. Ken Tony Shall we discuss? 16:20, 4 June 2021 (UTC)

Ken Tony, RedWarn is usable on mobile by viewing Wikipedia from the desktop site, however there is currently no support for the theme used on m.wikipedia, Minerva Neue. — Berrely • TalkContribs 16:22, 4 June 2021 (UTC)
Oh I see. Thank you Berrely for the information. Ken Tony Shall we discuss? 16:26, 4 June 2021 (UTC)
@Ken Tony @Berrely I use RedWarn on a mobile device, using the Vector skin alongside User:TheDJ/mobileVector.css; however, most of the buttons aren't clickable, though quick rollback still works. ― Qwerfjkl | 𝕋𝔸𝕃𝕂  (please use {{reply to|Qwerfjkl}} on reply) 21:48, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

Conflict

This script conflicts with User:SD0001/Making user scripts load faster, can this be resolved? ― Qwerfjkl | 𝕋𝔸𝕃𝕂  (please use {{reply to|Qwerfjkl}} on reply) 19:35, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

Qwerfjkl, we don't provide support for scripts or mods with low usage. You might want to ask the maintainer of that script for support. Thanks, ✨ Ed talk! ✨ 19:41, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
@Ed6767: it's an upstream issue from SD0001's snippet caused by all of our assets being appended into the head instead of loaded through MediaWiki helper functions. We're the ones that need to act on this one. Qwerfjkl, I'll see what I can do with this and get back to you if I find a fix. Chlod (RW • say hi!) 23:08, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
Hi, Qwerfjkl! I've found the cause of the problem, fixed it with this commit, and applied that to the code repository. We now just need Ed6767 to apply the changes to User:RedWarn/.js. As a side note, great job on implementing a better way to load userscripts, SD0001. This is a genius idea. Chlod (RW • say hi!) 23:26, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks Chlod. Really large scripts like RedWarn are what I had in mind to use this with. Given its size, on my system RedWarn still takes ~65ms to load from the disk cache -- but certainly that's a lot better than the 500–1100 ms it takes via normal web requests. – SD0001 (talk) 17:00, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
@SD0001 Out of curiosity, how can you measure this? ― Qwerfjkl | 𝕋𝔸𝕃𝕂  (please use {{reply to|Qwerfjkl}} on reply) 20:19, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
@Qwerfjkl: using the network tab of browser dev tools (ref: [1]) – SD0001 (talk) 08:55, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
@Chlod: This may be nitpicky but I'm not sure if you need to use mw.loader.getScript() rather than mw.loader.load(). The former uses jQuery.ajax() and returns a promise to allow asynchronous actions whereas the latter just adds a <script>...</script> tag, which is closer to the status quo. Warned the wrong user

Hello! I don't know why, but when I tried to leave a warning on User talk:Luke Chuck "Danger" Malloy after reverting an edit by that user, RedWarn left the warning on User talk:Luke Chuck. Tol | talk | contribs 23:09, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

@Tol: I'm currently working on a solution for this. I'll update you when the problem has been fixed. Chlod (RW • say hi!) 01:55, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
