Episode 3[edit]

RedThunder appears to have vanished for a bit, so i'm going to put up my WM2010 review (the first half) as a stand-in. Ironholds 19:24, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episode list[edit]

Episode list needs an update. The previous 2 eps aren't listed. Mastrchf (t/c) 22:38, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm working on creating an archive as we speak. Ironholds 22:41, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. Mastrchf (t/c) 22:44, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ideas[edit]

  1. We never did that admin bot episode we were suppose to do at WP:RWP. Gears of War 2 13:57, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  2. I've recorded a segment on the current bids for WM2010; i'll be sticking in the 1st half for the next broadcast, second for the one after that. In the works i've also got a debate over age and adminship, interviews with experienced users and a talk on what causes people to become contributors. Ironholds 19:15, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episode transcripts[edit]

Would someone be interested in creating a transcript of each episode? Might be an aid to either the hearing impaired, or those who cannot listen due to whatever circumstances. Mastrchf (t/c) 23:03, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've got base notes (for my episode contributions I write down what i'm going to say, then read from that and wing it as I go) which i'm sure I can adapt and stick in the commons. Ironholds 23:10, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episode split[edit]

The schedule for Monday's episode seems rather packed. Perhaps we should split the four segments into two shows? Just by looking at it, that episode might be 15+ minutes. Mastrchf (t/c) 22:16, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

woops, that was just meant to be a placeholder; it isn't all going to be there. Any luck with finding people for the debates? I can't get my hands on anyone affected by the age/adminship thing; perhaps we should try someone who thinks age should be an issue as a different tack.Ironholds 22:27, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just an idea for different views, User:RMHED, User:Kmweber, User:Friday. RedThunder 22:58, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ryan can't do it; he's recommended a couple of people who i'll check out and then get back to looking at RMHED and Friday. Kurt... no. Ironholds 23:00, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
For your format keeping it under 10 minutes is likely not a bad idea. We have a tendency to go 2hours+ on Wikipedia Weekly but we're also not doing such a frequent update schedule (once a week or so) so people have time to digest things a little more and we can do longer episodes. -- Tawker (talk) 06:40, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Colour scheme[edit]

It is possible that the colour scheme of Wikipedia:WikiUpdate be changed to something more easy to read? Or is it just me? – Thomas H. Larsen 00:20, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Black-on-Red may not be the best, I get you. Any suggestions? We could just scrap the colour scheme alltogether. Ironholds 14:40, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've experimentally removed the colour scheme altogether. Feel free to complain. – Thomas H. Larsen 00:18, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well everything is now centred, making it very difficult to read. If you could redo it and just remove the bits in the "div" tag controlling colour rather than the whole thing? Ironholds 11:39, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

LoA[edit]

I'm afraid i'll have to take an immediate leave of absence. I've got shit going on IRL that will be limiting my wiki-time, and the time I do have is jam-packed with projects. Ironholds 23:31, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Current episode template - Redesign[edit]

Hi. Please see the discussion at Template talk:Announcements/Community bulletin board#Four Podcasts, where we're trying to reduce the huge size of the podcast templates.

Ideally, this podcast's template should be made about a quarter of its current height. "Simplify, simplify, simplify". See thread for details. Thanks :) -- Quiddity 18:21, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
