  • "updating its online record within a few weeks" (my italics+link) Paradoctor (talk) 01:26, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • I suspect that the LoC isn't exactly over-resourced and updating image captions needs to be added to the bottom of the responsible area's to-do list. Nick-D (talk) 07:21, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • Maybe, but I wonder what takes more time: Updating a job queue twice, or just doing the job? Paradoctor (talk) 12:31, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Referring to the misidentified picture, there was a similar example recently where a Wikipedia article led to a correction in a standard reference work. An article in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography had claimed that Robert Kaye Greville had been elected as a Member of Parliament for Edinburgh in 1856. BrownHairedGirl noticed that his name appeared on no other source and emailed a correction to the DNB editors, who have just revised the entry to delete this erroneous piece of information. Further to this, I looked at the printed DNB to see if this error had been printed there. It had; furthermore it had its origin in the relevant volume of the first edition of the DNB which was published in 1890. So this 109 year old mistake has finally been spotted!
