(Yes, some D-machines could run Alto-emulating microcode, but they mostly ran Mesa or InterLisp or Smalltalk microcode.) undo

It was renamed Domain/OS when Unix-compatible environments were added, but Aegis came out in 1981 and didn't turn into Domain/OS until 1988. The Alto wasn't "in the style" of Apollo or Symbolics workstations, as it came before them - it's more as if *they* were in the style of the Alto. undo
