Professor Dr. Yasmeen Rashid (Urdu: پروفیسر ڈاکٹر یاسمین راشد ), is a Pakistani politician and a prominent Gynecologist[1][2] who is serving as the Punjab Secretary General of Imran Khan led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. She is currently working as the Professor and Head of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department, Central Park Medical College, Lahore. Prior to this, she retired from the Government Service in 2010 as a Professor and Head of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department, King Edward Medical University. She Lost the Election with Big Margin from the constituency NA-120 (Lahore) against the two-time former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.[3][4] She belongs to a political family formerly associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party; her father-in-law Malik Ghulam Nabi was a close aide of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.[5][6][7]

Dr. Yasmin Rashid is also an activist and a leading social worker. She is the pioneer of Feto Maternal Medicine in Pakistan and introduced services like inutero blood transfusion, prenatal diagnosis, fetal blood sampling, etc. She has also remained an active sports woman. She remained Pakistan no 2 in table tennis and also has university colours in basketball, tennis and swimming.

Education and medical experience

She completed her MBBS in 1978 from Fatima Jinnah Medical College, followed by MCPS and FCPS from College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan in 1981. She is also a member and fellow at Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists since 1999 and at College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan since 2010.[6]
