Yoshiko Ōta (太田淑子, Ōta Yoshiko) (born as Yoshiko Saka (阪 淑子)) (April 25, 1932 – October 29, 2021)[1] was a Japanese voice actress from Hyogo Prefecture, affiliated with Theatre Echo.

Career

Ōta joined Takarazuka Revue in 1947, and remained with them until 1952.[1][2] She joined Theatre Echo in 1963.[3]

Personal life

She married fellow voice actor Osamu Saka, whom she met while a member of the Takarazuka Revue.[1] The couple moved to Tokyo in 1964.[2]

Ōta passed away from heart failure at the age of 89 on October 29, 2021.[3] Her death was announced on November 9th by Theatre Echo.[1]

Awards

In 2016, Ōta was given the Tokyo Anime Award Festival's (TAAF) Lifetime Achievement Award.[1][3]
