  • 18:5818:58, 23 May 2022 diff hist +20 m Elizabeth PolackI added the parenthetical (or perhaps mother) because the wording of James Picciotto is "Ephraim Polack, father of Maria Polack, an authoress, and grandfather of Elizabeth Polack, also a writer" (James Picciotto, Sketches of Anglo-Jewish History (London: Trübner & Company, 1875), p. 232). Same wording also appears in an interview with Mrs Mark Polack in The Jewish Chronicle 1 Mar 1901, p. 19. So it is unclear which she is, mother or aunt.

Added explanation to text to cover this. The Mines of Idria is an old East European story about Alberti and the famous mercury mines in Idria which predates Polack's play.
