No anthropologist takes it seriously, or utilises it, in present day. If anything, it is only used informally to differentiate Assyrians and Arabs, linguistically, from Indo-Iranian speaking neighbours. Besides, as you can see in the genetic section here, Assyrians are partially mixed with "non-Semites" as well, and are distinct from them too.
