Manendragarh is a city and a municipality in the Koriya District in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh and now in Chhattisgarh. It is a taluk headquarters and lies near the district’s border with Madhya Pradesh and is about 40 km west of Baikunthpur.

The nearest airport is at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. Manendragarh Railway Station is on the Anuppur-Chirmiri rail route. There many coal mines around here. Manendragarh was originated by some tribals around 100 years back.

National Highway 78 has its route through Manendragarh. Amrit Dhara Waterfall is a nearby attraction. "Sidh-Baba" mount is famous for the Lord Shiva temple.

As of the 2001 India census, Manendragarh had a population of 60,755. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Manendragarh has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 64%. In Manendragarh, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age. Manendragarh is the hub of rural items. Most of the area is surrounded by small villages and people talk in the Chattisgarhi language.

The Manendragarh is the town situated at the bank of river Hasdeo, the branch of river Sone in Madhya Pradesh. The people living there are very friendly and helpful in nature. The main languages of Manendragarh are Chattisgarhi and Hindi.

The Manendragarh town is surrounded by coal mines SECL. This town is a main marketing hub. Chirimiri is situated near to this town, about 30 km away. By 2007 the population of Manedragarh reached around 60,000. he natural beauty of Koriya is known all over India. The place is full of dense forests, mountains, rivers and waterfalls. Amrit Dhara Waterfall in Koriya is among the most famous waterfalls in Koriya. Koriya in Chhattisgarh was a princely state during the British rule in India. Koriya is also known for the rich mineral deposits. Coal is found in abundance in this part of the country. The dense forests present here have a rich wildlife too. The climate of Koriya is quite pleasant. The mild summers and cool winters make Manendragarh a suitable place to visit throughout the year. The Amrit Dhara Water fall, Koriya is a natural waterfall which originates from the Hasdo River. The fall is situated at a distance of seven kilometers from Nagpur. The waterfall is ideally located on the Manendragarh-Baikunthpur road. The Amrit Dhara Waterfall in Koriya in Chhattisgarh in India falls from a height of 90 feet. The waterfall is about 10-15 feet wide. The point where the water falls, there, a cloudy atmosphere is formed all around. The spot where Amrit Dhara Waterfall, Koriya is situated is also famous for a very auspicious Shiva temple. Around this spot a very famous mela is held every year. The mela was started by Ramanuj Pratap Singh Judeo, who was the King of Koriya State, in the year 1936. The fair takes place during the festive occasion of Mahashiv Ratri and lakhs of devotees come to this place during the fair. The area around is also a famous picnic spot. People go for picnic and family get together to this place. The beauty of the place enchants every visitor and lures them to visit the place on and often. The Amrit Dhara waterfall is easily accessible from Koriya and other parts of Chhattisgarh. There is a Shiva Temple here too.

In 1936, Ramanuj Pratap Singh Judeo, the King of Koriya State, started a mela (fair) here on Mahashivratri, and the practice is followed till today.

Visitors to Manendragarh can travel via Katni or Jabalpur. There are direct train services to Manendragarh from both places.

Manendragarh was formed in the revenue district of Korea on dated 12-09-2003 in terms of notification issued by Government of Chhattisgarh:

OBJECTIVES

a. To improve the quality and productivity of the forests in the project areas of the Korea district.

b. To raise plantations of teak, bamboo and other Misc. Species.

NURSERIES

The one central nursery located at Janakganga. 2.01 lakhs Teak and 3.0 lakhs Bamboo plants are being prepared in the nursery for plantation 2006.And also there is Chandan Trees.

For entertainment this town has only two Talkies named as the "Khedia Chitra Mandir" and the "Vimal Shree" Cinema.And there is a Nagar Palika park which is the most entertainment place for the peoples.

"Karam Ghoga" ,"Hasdeo Dam(which is famous for Biggest Shivling)"and "Udal Kachhar" is a very famous picnic spot near to this place. Manendragarh is famous for coal fields. Ram Mandir Is manendragarh biggest temple.And Sirolii(temple of Lord Hanuman) is very famous temple.
