License tagging for Image:McCarthy sig.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:McCarthy sig.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

  • ===Issues of Immigration, Illegal Immigration, and Border Security===

Gingrich encounters friction with many conservatives in his own party by favoring the idea of legalizing the illegal aliens that reside in the United States, and through a process, granting them citizenship. This is evidenced by his recent quote: "Millions of illegal immigrants are here because Americans are hiring them. They have jobs in your neighborhood and you know it. They may be serving you lunch at a restaurant, washing your car, and mowing your lawn. They are probably working on the construction projects you drive past each day. Keeping these hard-working people illegal makes them vulnerable to criminals and keeps them from playing responsible roles in our communities."[citation needed]

Although unpopular among the conservative wing of the GOP (and many pro-union "blue dog" Democrats), Gingrich supports the idea of a "guest workers program" for Mexican citizens. This means that a predetermined number of Mexican citizens would be allowed to work in the United States, but would have to return to Mexico after an alloted period of time. Moreover, Gingrich supports the possibility of these "guest workers" gaining eventual citizenship. Although an H1A visa which allows for "unlimited guest workers" already exists, that plan has the corporations that hire Mexicans, paying for their health care and housing. The new guest workers program would differ in the sense that those services be paid for by tax dollars. The "guest worker" position is clearly illustrated in a recent statement where Gingrich says: "We need a guest worker program to ensure that guest workers pay taxes, get driver's licenses, buy auto insurance, abide by the law, and that filters out criminals and potential terrorists. The program should not be an automatic qualification for citizenship, though eventual citizenship should be held out as an opportunity."[citation needed]

Suggestion[edit]

Here's a friendly suggestion about Wikipedia etiquette. Please be courteous to your fellow Wikipedians by removing the in-use template that you place on a page if you do not intend to edit the page for a while. See Newt Gingrich. It can be confusing to others and discourage legitimate edits. Thank you. Ward3001 18:26, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding presidential "exploratory committees"[edit]

You're invited to comment at Template talk:United States presidential election, 2008 navigation, on this proposal:

Proposed Deletion of category "Exploratory" and "Declared" for individuals filing with FEC.

And please note this argument on the same talk page. Exploratory equals Candidate.

In Mortal Danger: The Battle for America's Border and Security[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to In Mortal Danger: The Battle for America's Border and Security. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Thank you. --Ronz 18:37, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jargon of The Savage Nation[edit]

A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Jargon of The Savage Nation, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but yours may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ·:·Will Beback ·:· 04:59, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Witness cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Witness cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:46, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated Invasion: How America Still Welcomes Terrorists, Criminals, and Other Foreign Menaces, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Invasion: How America Still Welcomes Terrorists, Criminals, and Other Foreign Menaces and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:44, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Witness cover.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Witness cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:01, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File:McCarthy sig.gif missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.
