The Graphics Lab is a project to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. Requests for image improvements can be added to the workshop pages: Illustrations, Photographs and Maps. For questions or suggestions one can use the talk pages: Talk:Graphics Lab, Talk:Illustrations, Talk:Photographs and Talk:Maps.
This specific page is the requests page for the illustration workshop. Anyone can make a request for an illustration to be improved or created for a Wikipedia article. Clicking the "New Request" button will bring you to a standard template for submitting requests, as well as general advice that should be followed.

    Advice to requesters

    All requests:

    • Please make sure your request is "legitimate" by copyright. If the image(s) are in the public domain or freely licensed, you are fine. If the image(s) are "Fair use", there are only certain things we can do with them without falling afoul of Wikipedia's fair-use policies.
      • If you are requesting assistance with a copyright or fair-use image, don't display it on this page; place {{GLNF|Example.png|caption|align=left}} to create a link to it. Do not add the File: extension. Our fair-use policy does not allow displaying fair-use images out of their articles on ANY account.
    • Please check back regularly to see if progress has been made or if any additional questions need to be answered before the request can be completed.
    • If a request is done to your satisfaction, please mark it with {{resolved}}.

    SVG requests:

    • Make sure your request can actually BE vectorized. Note that vector drawings are not suitable for certain applications. We generally use SVG format for icons, logos, drawings, maps, flags, and such. Certain things, photographs especially, are totally impossible to vectorize.
    • Per our non-free content policy, vectorization of copyrighted images is not permitted. If a vectorized non-free image is desired, seek out such an image from the copyright holder.

Could someone vectorize this image? It seems to be one of the last parties in the upcoming Congress without an svg version. Apparatus for creation of superheavy elements

    Article(s)
Hassium, potentially tens of articles related to the superheavy elements
    Request
I'd like to ask for creation a scheme of an apparatus used for creation of superheavy elements, similar to one that can be found here under the title "Making superheavy elements." It will be used in a soon-to-be-an-FAC hassium as well as potentially tens of articles on the topic of superheavy elements. Until recently, there was generally no coherent explanation of how these experiments would be run, and it is also hard to find in the internet, where either very simple things or very technical things can be easily found, but there is next to nothing that can be said to be a real bridge between the two. I have tried to write one and it would very much benefit from such an illustration. I will be eager to explain the scheme if it is not clear enough.--R8R (talk) 18:03, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Mrmw: great, thank you very much! Can I just ask you to correct the typo ("seperator" instead of "separator")?--R8R (talk) 23:16, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@R8R: you mean 'Separator' instead of 'Seperator'  Done
I meant that it was back then "seperator" instead of "separator" (of course, it should have been the other way around). Regardless, thank you once more!--R8R (talk) 11:55, 30 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Logo of All India Football Federation
    Article(s)
    All India Football Federation
    Request
Someone just uploaded a new version of File:All India Football Federation 2016.png. The primary logo is the same, but apparently the new version as the name "All India Football Federation" in white letters added along with the shield logo. The text is not copyrightable, and doesn't really seem essential to the logo itself; however, that's more of subjective judgement on my part. The main problem is that you've got white lettering being superimposed on a white background which pretty much makes the additional text "invisible" both on the file's page and in the article where the file is being used. Is there some fix for this that doesn't create derivative work subject to its own copyright because that might not be something that would be considered compliant per WP:NFCCP. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:32, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    1959-1965 Ontarian LG's flag - Maple wreath

    Article(s)
List of Canadian flags, among others.
    Request
Could someone please alter the (above-left) flag used by the Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario from 1959-1965, so that the wreath of maple leaves surrounding the Ontarian arms in the lower fly matches the design of the maple wreath from the centre of the blank version of the (old) Canadian Lieutenant-Governor's standard flag design (above-right). After all, the wreath on the current version of the above-left file has been directly derived from the wreath on the modern Flag of the Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia, which doesn't reflect what the actual wreath would have looked like during this time period. Additionally, the original version of the Ontarian LG's flag (which was used both before the above-left flag, as well as for 16 years after it), uses the above-right flag's version of the wreath, hence it would make a lot more sense for the 1959-1965 flag file to display the same wreath.
