A tag has been placed on Morris palter, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

violates WP:COI

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Milton 23:48, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do want to remind you to put {{hangon}} on the page - this page is referenced in other articles, including Treble Charger (towards the bottom), but your editing it conflicts with a policy: WP:COI. --Milton 23:58, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Commercial use of Image:Morris-debphoto.jpg[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Morris-debphoto.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Morris-debphoto.jpg is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Morris-debphoto.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Mark palter page[edit]

While you are welcome to correct inaccuracies in an article about yourself, it is strongly discouraged that you do much more then that. I would recommend moving this page into your userpage, and then discussing it with other editors. While you've done an admirable job of maintaining a neutral tone, the potential for abuse is rather great. I would like to encourage you to please read the Wikipedia policy on autobiographies, and act accordingly. Feel free to respond on my talk page if you think I've acted inappropriately. Please believe me that I would like to see more articles about modern musicians (and indeed, it's also in my best interest); however, I also want Wikipedia to strive for a higher level of scholarship. Best regards, --Milton 03:36, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just letting you know I've recommended to another editor to look into this. --Milton 03:44, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's not the case at all. As you can imagine, an encyclopedia that allowed anyone to write an article about themself would lose all appearance of scholarship (as it is, Wikipedia is frequently critized for letting anyone edit). I provided links in my above comment detailing the policies on just this matter. It's simply a matter of keeping the site factual - I'm not saying you put anything untrue on your page, just that the policies listed above discuss it in a way that led to my, and other editors, actions. --Milton 04:18, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty much, yeah. I would look into it, but every page I have ever created has been deleted. I have since stopped trying, and have also stopped looking at newly-created pages. --Milton 18:53, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I caved and created the article. It should stay up now - no one's contested it yet. --Milton 18:53, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please take a moment to review the page. While it would be preferred that you not edit it, if there are any gross errors (like you name or something), it's okay to fix them. Also, if you have anything else you'd like to put in, feel free to let me know on my talk page, here. Hope that works. Regards, --Milton 03:03, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it would be best, I think, if it's a photo specifically taken for Wikipedia and not used somewhere else. That would help avoid any accusations of copyright violations. Glad I could get that article up. --Milton 19:16, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
