Greetings N.W. Alumni!

First, welcome to Wikipedia. The banner I included is one of our standard welcome mats to new editors, and contains many important links to policies and areas where you can get help when needed. I hope you enjoy editing here and make many worthwhile contributions.

I recently reverted some of your edits at this article. Youtube clips are generally not considered WP:RS. Further, in an article about a school, the important point of the reference is that it must confirm that this person attended the school. Evidence confirming their "claim to fame" will appear in the article about that person.

Finally, I did delete some of the alumni you edited as they were red linked, and did not appear to meet wikipedia's guidelines for notability. In general, notable alumni are required to have articles about them in existence (or be eligible to have the same) to be included in a notable alumni list.

Again, good luck and happy editing! LonelyBeacon (talk) 20:51, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When you reverted changes to Niles West High School and restored names, you also lost references to sources that "proved" that the individuals were NW alumni and resolved the "factdate" issues. You may want to address that.... --DAW0001 (talk) 06:07, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

February 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Niles West High School has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \byoutube\.com (links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5rbuvqd8tk, http://www.youtube.com/user/heidipmusic). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 22:58, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
