US College Campuses

Hello, JaimeBrown2011. I'm trying to improve the International Churches of Christ Wikipedia page, but my edits have been reverted twice by you. While I appreciate that you cited WP:UNDUE and WP:WEIGHT, I don't understand how my edits violate either policy. Please help me understand on the article's Talk page. Thank you and best regards, WW. @Walter, if you read those policies mentioned above, my edits become self explanatory. There has been extensive discussion (see the history on the talk page)on how much coverage should be given to one aspect (US campus colleges) to an organization spread over 150 nations. @Jamie, I read WP:UNDUE and I'm not sure that my edits violate it. The US College Campuses section currently comprises 627 of the ICOC article's 5,706 words. While reading WP:UNDUE I read WP:NPOV. I would think that my edits are more in line with WP:NPOV: they provide both the source comments and ICOC's responses. Agreed that the ICOC is spread across many countries, but most members live in the US, no? They also mainly have recruited and still recruit on US college campuses (as opposed to colleges around the world), no? Anyway, I hope that you had a good holiday weekend. @Jaime, hello. Hope you're doing well. I saw that you deleted quotations from chaplains at Holy Cross and MIT. The Holy Cross quotation links to a Web site with an address that contains the term 'blog'. I guess you saw 'blog' in the address and thought the quotation was from a blog. It appears you also thought the statement from the MIT chaplain was also from a blog because you deleted that too. But neither statement is from a blog. Rather, they're from articles published by those colleges, which I believe meet the criteria for RS. The Holy Cross news site just contains the term 'blog' in its site. This is fairly common for news sources. If you scroll to the bottom of the article you'll see the chaplain's name, date of publications, etc. So I'm reinserting the quotations. @Walter, you would need to take that to the RS board before re-inserting. I have never heard of school newspapers regarded as sources to be used for an encyclopedia. You could quote them on social media I guess but not here. JamieBrown2011 (talk) 07:21, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

@Walter, go to the RS noticeboard and ask. Until you get approval from them to use school newspapers on Wikipedia I highly recommend you do not keep inserting low quality material into the ICOC Page. JamieBrown2011 (talk) 07:51, 28 September 2022 (UTC)

@Jaime, please cite the "low quality material" that you're referring to. I have not been reinserting the quotations by college chaplains from their university newspapers. Rather, you've been deleting additional material without justification. I will go the RS Noticeboard first before the college chaplain material is reinserted, if it's reinserted at all that is. I cannot imagine them having an issue with university newspapers being a reliable source about the ICOC's interactions on university campuses; but I'll check with them. That said, I notice that much of the ICOC page currently cites ICOC sources. I'm not sure that the ICOC itself can be a reliable source of its own WP page. So I will bring this up to the RS noticeboard too. I imagine that some of this page will have to be re-written if it cannot be supported with citations from reliable third-party sources. Jaimebrown2011 This user: Cordless Larry commented below about the mass deletion on the icoc talk page but frankly, I was ok with it. Users who were former members of the ICOC/Offshoots tend to use the page as their personal blog. For example Matthewrb is in league with Muzikman7182 who formally used this username: Clipadilla1975 at one point even edited my personal sandbox to add in his "cult" edits. User: D219 ^ formally known as Qewr4231 was semi-banned from posting on wiki due to soapboxing about McKean as we both recall. This user can be seen from at least 4 separate Anon accounts messaging/commenting and pressing this agenda yet again: HERE, HERE, HERE & HERE. It wouldn't shock me if users: "Non0hyah , Muzikman7182 , SagaciousPig & CodeTalker " all came from the SF area or NJ as the same IP based on the activity in their corresponding anti-icoc social media forums. These individuals all have valid experiences with this church, but their agenda is decidedly non-academic. Although you and I have some history of bantering ourselves, I have no desire to see ANY encyclopedia page edited by individuals with an aversion to NPOV policy. I wouldn't have the administrative experience to do something about this but it certainly should be escalated to Wiki-mods to ensure an influx of non-academic edits. User:Coachbricewilliams28 is a current member of the International Christian Churches and is a confirmed Kip Mckean follower. He is most likely one of Kip Mckean's paid leaders. Nice try but you are breaking WP:BLOCKEVASION by having 5 or more accounts. I posted zero personally identifiable information about you, nor would I. That would be against WP rules. I am here because you and others openly boasted online about your intentional WP:VANDAL actions. Additionally, I have no interest in advancing McKean's agenda nor am I paid by him. In fact, I haven't editted THIS page in 4 years. It is THIS CATEGORY of baseless claims that led to your discipline the first time. This is an encyclopedia, not your personal soapbox. Cordless Larry, thanks for posting this here. To be clear, I am a member of the church, but I am not paid or asked to do any editing on this page, my only concern is accurate information being reflected.

For example you just posted on the ICOC page in the LEAD section that the church is subject to federal lawsuits and quoted a Rolling Stone Magazine article. In this very same article it is stated: “In July, the plaintiffs withdrew the federal suits. Their attorney says they plan to temporarily shelve federal RICO claims related to the alleged “pyramid scheme” and to refile all of them.” Please remove the inaccurate and falsely recorded information on the page. To this date NONE of the cases have been re-filed!!! Looking forward to your co-operation in this matter.JamieBrown2011 (talk) 09:53, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
