Cesar Alexander Jonah Beltran (Born May 5th 2005), known professionally as cesar is an American singer and record producer. He started making his own instrumentals on his Iphone via GarageBand

Early Life and Education

Cesar Alexander Jonah Beltran was born on May 5th 2005 in Mission Viejo, California to a mixed race Mother and a Colombian Father. His Mother's ethnic background is Mexican and Ashkenazi Jewish (Ukraine). His Father's family is from Bogotá, Colombia. He attended Whitney High School in 2019 and graduated with the Class of 2023. During his time there he was in the Jazz Band for all four years as the guitarist. During this time his music instructor discovered that he has Perfect Pitch which would help him throughout his time in the Jazz Band.

Music Career

He adopted the name cesar specifically in all lowercase when he started making beats at age 17. He also has a side project under the name DJ Dindiggy. Under this name he would make his own Chopped & Screwed remixes of his favorite songs. In the Summer of 2021 he posted several EPs and Albums on SoundCloud. He would focus on doing mainly chopped & screwed remixes of Latin-Trap, Chicano-Rap, and early 2000's Hip-Hop and R&B. In the Summer of 2022 he started to make covers of his favorite songs via GarageBand. Mostly Cigarettes After Sex songs.

Musical Style

In January 2023 he started to make his own instrumentals. He would focus on using ambient samples in his beats to create a meditative effect on the listener. He took great influence from genres like Chopped & Screwed and Cloud Rap. He has a simple formula for the beats he makes. He mainly uses the Roland TR-808 drum machine, ambient samples, lots of hi-hats, and tempos that go from around 90 BPM to 175 BPM. His music falls under multiple categories including Cloud-Rap, Bedroom Pop, Alternative R&B, and Lo-Fi Music.

Influences

His musical influences are as follows. Cigarettes After Sex, DJ Screw, and PinkPantheress. In 2018 cesar started playing Guitar. He started listening to bands like Metallica, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, and others similar. During the Covid-19 Pandemic in 2020 he delved deep into genres and sub-genres of Hip-Hop and R&B. He lists Kanye West, PinkPantheress, and T-Pain as influences of how he produces his music.

He is self taught in both his guitar playing and his beat making. He uses GarageBand to make his beats on his phone then Logic Pro X to mix and master them on his MacBook. The main thing he wants his music to do is to ease the listeners mind and make them feel euphoric and free.
