Hà Tĩnh (
listen) is a city in Vietnam.[1] It is the capital of the Ha Tinh province, and lies in North Central Coast region.

From 1976–1991, Hà Tĩnh town was an administrative unit directly under the province Nghệ Tĩnh.
From 1991 until 2007, Ha Tĩnh is a town unit directly under the province Hà Tĩnh.
On 28 May 2007, Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng signed Decree No. 89/2007/NĐ-CP establishing Hà Tĩnh City under the province of Hà Tĩnh. On 20 June 2007, a ceremony for establishment of Hà Tĩnh City occurred at the City Centre Square.
