Jurina Matsui (松井 珠理奈, Matsui Jurina, born March 8, 1997 in Aichi Prefecture) is a member of the Japanese girl idol group SKE48. Currently, she is also a temporary member of SKE48's sister girl group AKB48. In SKE48, she is in Team S, in AKB48 — in Team K.

Career

In July 2008, Jurina Matsui participated in the first audition for SKE48. She passed along with 22 other participants. The group debuted on October 5, 2008.

In the same year, she was selected to take part in the recording of AKB48's single "Ōgoe Diamond". It was the first AKB48 single to feature a member of a sister group. Since then, she is a regular AKB48's senbatsu (CD single selection) member.

On March 25, 2012, at AKB48's concert at Saitama Super Arena, Jurina Matsui suddenly left in the middle of a song. She was diagnosed with "dizziness due to anemia, overwork" and was hospitalized for a few days. According to the event manager, in the past few months there had been reports of Jurina's poor physical condition, but she had stated,"I absolutely do not want a break". She has been absent from AKB48's activities since then.[1] AKB48's producer Yasushi Akimoto informed the group's fans that he had let her rest for an indefinite period of time.[2]
