Latin American Wings (LAW) is a scheduled charter airline based at Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santiago, Chile. It flies to six destinations using Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
History
LAW was founded by a group of lawyers; executives in the insurance company and construction industries; and pilots for Middle Eastern airlines. It is led by Andrés Dulcinelli. The consortium has invested USD $3 million in the airline, which may increase to $5 million. LAW will focus on operating flights to underserved markets.[1]
LAW operated its first flight on 27 January 2016, from Santiago to Punta Cana.[1][2] Flights make a technical stop in Lima.[3] LAW uses a Boeing 737-300 aircraft belonging to fellow start-up Chilejet.[4]
The airline hopes to add flights to Asunción, Montevideo, Santa Cruz, and Porto Alegre by the end of the year,[4] as well as Pucón in 2017.[1] It has also signed a lease for a Boeing 737-400 aircraft.[1]
