AllMusic 's Scott Yanow noted "Terry knows these songs, which include "Cottontail," "Come Sunday" and "Sophisticated Lady," backwards, but he infuses each of his renditions with enthusiasm and melodic creativity. Recommended".[ 4] The Penguin Guide to Jazz [ 5] [ 6]
