Southwest High School (known as Southwest, SHS, or AltEd) is a 4 to 5 year public high school in El Centro, California that serves approximately 2,300 students by utilizing an alternative teaching approach designed to meet the unique learning challenges of its diverse population.[1] Southwest is one of the 3 high schools within the Central Union High School District. It has been a California Distinguished School. It is home to the Southwest High School Eagles.

MUST pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) with a 350 or above in order to graduate.
