Update 12 February 2011

  • Geology section need to be prepared
  • No section on tourism yet
  • Please add more on history (old kingdoms, pre-colonialism, VOC, World War II)
  • Please consider the alternative viewpoints on the attempted 'coup' on Sept. 30th 1965, which was blamed on communists at the time, but is largely disputed now. The government's version of history (which controversially remains in school texts) has been trotted out here.

[edit] User merbabu biased editing

User merbabu is making biased edits in Indonesia articles. Just because india is a poverty stricken country that will never develop and is likely to split apart because of all the lands that were confisicated from people against their will, does not mean that out of jealousy you write rubbish in other countries articles. India has extensive and widepsread use of bullock carts but you have not put any such picture on the Indian front page.

Also note that Indonesia is helping india with tractors

http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2011-02-11/india-business/28543335_1_manufacturing-plant-apollo-tyres-tractors

Also note the page on agriculture in India which shows that more than 52% of the country employed in agricultre, lack of modern equipment and irrigation facilities in indian agriculture and constant problems due to dependence on monsoons.

Please add the following picture to the indian main page

or for transport

Indonesia is much more modern than a country like india and will continue to modernize unlike india, irrelevant of what you put on a website like wikipedia. I would advise you to change your attitude or like other muslim users on wikipedia have suggested it would be better for us to make our own website for muslim countries as this is just going down the drain with hindu edits all over muslim countries articles. IndonesianEconomy (talk) 17:45, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

This is an inappropriate use of the article's talk page. The purpose of a talk page is to discuss how best to improve the article, not to hurl accusations at other editors, draw comparisons between different articles or different countries, or make broad accusations of bias that do not pertain to the issues at hand. If you have an issue with a particular editor, take it to his or her own talk page, and please assume good faith. Also, please note that this is a featured article that has been worked on by numerous editors and extensively peer-reviewed, so the changes that are made need to reflect a consensus of editors and need to follow Wikipedia guidelines, which your edits have not. I have yet to hear a reason supporting the changes you are trying to make, and the issues you have raised have nothing to do with the objections that have been stated. Finally, it is the responsibility of no editor but yourself to make the changes that you want to see on Wikipedia. No editor is responsible for the content of any page. Please keep in mind that Wikipedia is a collaborative effort. Feeeshboy (talk) 18:34, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Did someone reply? I could not be bothered with this website since its just biased nonsense and give me a break with the "peer reviewed" nonsense. Its not peer reviewed its just reviewed by biased people. You might as well watch fox news because this website is the same as fox news.

Majority of muslims have already moved over to muslim wiki and other websites

http://muslimwiki.com/mw/index.php/MuslimWiki

A more concrete website is also being planned so no more vandalism and no more coming back day after day to remove the vandalism created by others in muslim articles. We have more important things to do than come in everyday to clear away vandalism. IndonesianEconomy (talk) 00:42, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

ok, all the best to you then. Goodbye. --Merbabu (talk) 00:08, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Indonesia 2000 census:88,22% Muslims

Well im a newbie here, but i want to correct one error that is circulating around wikipedia for some time now.I read statement here, from Cia and other so called media, where it says that Muslims are 86,1% of Indonesia population.Main article for Indonesia religion says that Muslims are 86,1% of Indonesia population. This is a bit funny, since during last census of 2000.Muslim population was exactly 88,22%

For further proof of this i will submit now few links.I can sincerely hope that mods and admins on this page will correct this error after those links. Thanks

http://www.unhcr.org/refworld/country,,USDOS,,IDN,,4cf2d09264,0.html

2.5.2. Indonesia: Based on census data, the Muslim population increased from 103,579,496 or 87.51% in 1971 to 177,528,772 or 88.22% in 2000.

[[1]] So if we calculate that Indonesia population now is 239 million, one year after census data.Make this round number and say its 240 million.Muslim population would be from 212-216 million. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Denizlin24 (talkcontribs) 11:41, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

The population of Muslims in Indonesia is 92-94% the rest is made up mainly of indigenous tribal religions and bit of confucianism maybe by the chinese population. People who practice other religions in indonesia are indonesians, we dont have migrants as such. Apart from the local chinese population that does business and stuff. If you want to waste time on this website that is your choice but all of us are leaving, nobody is going to come back again and again to remove the vandalism from the article. [edit] File:Indonesiaraya.ogg Nominated for speedy Deletion

Image-x-generic.svg An image used in this article, File:Indonesiaraya.ogg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request
