The whole text about the ideas of Glissant is not the work of a serious philologe but it is written completly in a agitating partisan style, a pamphlet against the father of the negritude (Aimé Césaire); you should read Francoise Vergès Pour une lecture postcoloniale de Césaire, in: Aimé Césaire Nègre je suis, nègre je resterai or the introduction of Mireille Rosello to her translation of Aimé Césaire Notebook of a Return do My Native Land. The negritude, by the way, was never a school as you can read already in its classical masterpiece Cahier d'un retour au pays natal, and the missunderstanding Césaire would have been seeking his homeland in Africa was intended, in fact, although he seek there the culural roots of his race the twice described return aimed to Martinique where he had been living till the end of his days dying as Papa Césaire, the beloved Big Old Man of Martinican people, with many thousands of them in the main stadium to celebrate his burial.

Glissant had been overestimated for decades by some interested intellectual circles to damage the importance of the political and poetic work of Césaire (s. Jürg Altwegg, Sklavenvordenker [Mastermind] [Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, 31 of january 2006, p. 42)
