Try not to make a list of consoles...[edit]

I'm deleting the list of consoles that are under the generation section. Leave the listing of the consoles to their generation pages. The Consoles of the 2000s are more-or-less to say how the video game consoles have evolved or changed. I can see that it may become a problem if they are listed. Image copyright problem with Image:ESRB AO.svg[edit]

The image Image:ESRB AO.svg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

HD[edit]

"Overall the decade has seen the last of the low resolution three dimensional polygons of the 1990s and has entered the realm of High Definition games"

Considering HD wasn't even introduced until more than halfway through the decade, and the one console that has no HD capabilities is currently completely dominating, is this really a fair generalization? 68.236.143.175 (talk) 06:25, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Project[edit]

Having authored the 2010s in video gaming page, I will try to tackle the problems in this article over the course of the next week. I already deleted the best of section and I will add a new one that mirrors the 2010s page. Some of my projects will include...

  • Add new sections regarding the decline of PC gaming, the explosion of MMOs, and I will try to rework the Controversial gaming section. COMPLETED 26 APRIL 2012
  • Add new best-selling list provided by VGCharts much like the 2010s page. <-- Needs a new source.
  • Rewrite section on interactive gaming.
  • Rewrite 3D gaming and replace the word 3D with depth to differentiate true 3D with just games providing depth. I think it's funny how people branded a game like Super Mario 64 in 1996 as the first "3D" game and now we have the Nintendo 3DS which actually provides true 3D. I don't think they were expecting the technology to change much in 1996. COMPLETED 26 APRIL 2012

Does anybody know of any other sources for video game sale numbers other than VGChartz? Apparently it is blacklisted by Wikipedia as an unreliable source. Anyone? (Tigerghost (talk) 05:28, 22 April 2012 (UTC))[reply]

Bare urls[edit]

Why is it that people who create and edit this kind of article very often neglect to give proper refs? It's always bare urls. Why don't they spend a little more time on their edits. Why is everyone so restless these days that they can't be bothered to take their time to make sure their refs are readable and not just a jumble of a url. Put a title in your refs please.
