Major edit[edit]

Have edited the page from what looked like a translation from Spanish
Have left duplicated population/area figures in text and info box. Not sure how/why/if the area got slightly smaller, or if this was a misprint
Will add more on the smaller villages in due course
Spent about 3 months in Santiago but don't know about the Pastrana water mill, unless this is the gofio mill?
As most Spanish municipalities are named after their administative town the subject of the article can be confusing - have assumed the article is about both the town and municipality

Ferries[edit]

Having just returned from 2 weeks holiday on La Gomera staying just outside Playa Santiago, I can confirm that the sentence concerning the ferry is now incorrect.

There is now a high-speed catamaran car ferry, the Benchijigua Express, run by Fred Olsen between Los Christianos on Tenerife and San Sebastián de la Gomera which connects with a passenger-only ferry (the Garajonay Express) thats runs regularly between San Sebastián, Playa Santiago and Valle Gran Rey.

Suggest this page is updated to reflect this.

Alajeró, Santa Cruz de TenerifeAlajeró – Common name. Fixer88 (talk) 16:10, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Only one here, so unnecessary to disambiguate. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:25, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. All 68 uses of Alajero in Wikipedia articles, refer to this municipality, so there can be no confusion. Although "Santa Cruz de Tenerife" is a common suffix, as Alajeró is in the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, to the lay reader it is confusing, as Alajeró is on La Gomera not Tenerife.
Of the six Municipalities in La Gomera, only Alajeró and Vallehermoso have the province as a suffix, but Vallehermoso is a disambiguation page listing five places, so that needs to remain disambiguated. - Arjayay (talk) 17:34, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
