This is written like an article for Military History Magazine. Highly dramatic and full of American POV descriptions of the battle. I have removed the DSC citation, the entire citation was quoted, and a couple of other things. During the time of this battle, the 5 bridges in mosul were under amercian control. I personaly was there and was with the unit (VA National Guard) that was responsable for for securing the bridges. There were many mortor, rocket and full out attacks on the bridges I helped secured. That would be bridges 2, 3, and 4 over 4 days of operations. Just wanted to clear up that the insurgents did not control any bridges during this time. D. Carlan (Tiny) B co 276 Eng.
