Just throwing out another red flag[edit]

This may sound pedantic and silly to some people, but I think it's of note. Every published source I've ever seen lists his name as Ben F. Grussendorf, rather than Benjamin. This goes as far back as his stint as mayor of Sitka in the mid-1970s. Logic would dictate that Ben is short for Benjamin, but that's not necessarily a universal truth. More important is the fact that I have not seen a published reference to Benjamin being his full first name, and none has been given on the page. RadioKAOS (talk) 01:05, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page "Benjamin F. Grussendorf" moved to "Ben Grussendorf"[edit]

The rationale may have been too lengthy to fit in the comments. I'm repeating it here:

1) In common usage, Grussendorf has always been referred to as Ben and not as Benjamin.

2) The sole source for the name "Benjamin" was his entry on Political Graveyard, with no citations therein. All other sources(*) list him as Ben, not as Benjamin.

3) This is the only page, other than a graphics file of some sort, I could find on Wikipedia which contained the name "Grussendorf." Therefore, there was no need for excessive detail in the page name.

(*)The person who originally created this page lives in Poland, and apparently wrote it merely based on the information contained in the Political Graveyard entry. Obviously, someone in Poland would likely not be aware of countless other sources, mostly local to Alaska, which support how he referred to by first name.
