The fact that this restaurant was one of the only, if not the only, restuarant to serve black musicians during the period of segragation makes in noteworthy, IMHO. Keep. Postcard Cathy 18:32, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Give an article more than a day before tagging notability. Others can add to it things I did not initially enter that would show more notability than I already have. I agree, as I think anyone in Boston would, that this is truely a landmark of the city. In March, Charlie's turns 80, I'm sure there will be articles written in both the Globe and the Herald about this event. Also, I added the information about the James Beard Award, as well as a citation to a Boston Globe article solely about Charlie's. 15:37, 19 January 2007.
