Death industryDeath care

  • Common name. Pnm (talk) 22:44, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Both of the references given in the article use the term 'Death industry,' so there must be something behind that concept. There is also a freestanding article called Deathcare. We should not have *both* Deathcare and Death care. Consider proposing somewhere that this material be reorganized. EdJohnston (talk) 04:33, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I only added those refs a couple of days ago just before the RfC was added. I think there are more refs for death care than death industry - probably because "death industry" may be considered pejorative. Jojalozzo 16:06, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment -- This article needs to be deleted and salted. The term is highly offensive. Hitler had a death industry. We call it the holocaust. I do not like Death care or Deathcare and would like both merged and renamed (over a redirect to this article) to funeral industry. The present "deathcare" is the only substantive article that we have, and it is a very poor one. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:50, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Funeral industry may be too narrow. It would help if we cited some sources. Jojalozzo 16:06, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Further, the term "death industry" is used in media; the offensive correlation is simply an invocation of Godwin's Law. tedder (talk) 17:17, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge into Deathcare and then consider naming when the topic and sources are more clear. Dicklyon (talk) 08:39, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
