Untitled[edit]

Is this the car that was used in Claude LeLouch's 'Rendezvous' film ? A truely great piece of driving and filming techniques. An unnamed driver (possibly F1 driver of the early 70's) drives flat out through the streets of Paris in the early hours of the morning. Camera used is gyroscopic and strapped to the front. Only rumours, it was Lelouch himself, in his Mercedes. The Ferrari 275 is often falsely claimed to have been the camera vehicle in C'était un rendez-vous due to the (separate) engine sounds that were edited. -- Matthead Discuß 23:45, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We've owned a 275 GTB for 20 years, I've been in it at racing speeds. The engine noise is 'Rendezvous' are a 275 or an extremely similar engine/car combo. Spyder[edit]

It's a common Anglo-American misspelling of the Italian word 'spider', pronounced 'speeder', meaning an open sports car. The Italians think it is an English word, which it used to be, but the British themselves haven't called sports cars 'speeders' since about the 1920s. In Italian, you can't use a double E -- if you did, it would have to be pronounced like a long A -- so they write it as 'spider'. Weirdly, people in Britain and the US like to spell it with a Y to make absolutely certain they pronounce it wrong, like the arachnid, thus missing the whole point. While it is understandable to "expect" a reference after quotes or explicit information, it is also Wikipedia policy on sourcing for controversial information to be referenced, this does NOT mean that editors need to drive-by tag start class articles with reference tags. The vehicle is very famous and a simple Google search would even show that auction prices have been phenomenal because of the rarity. Anyway, multiple sectional reference tags, especially on a start article with general references, is a little overboard. Otr500 (talk) 17:05, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox size[edit]
