The issue of flag priority: Friesland or Ommelanden?[edit]

A recent edit by an IP user claimed in its summary that the Ommelanden flag is actually older than the West Frisian flag, and so their priority in the article should be reversed. Our article on the Ommelanden simply states that their flag resembles the Frisian provincial flag (so, no claim of priority in either direction), which is undisputed. I don't know enough about this topic to judge the accuracy/truthfulness of this claim, or to judge which sources are reliable on this issue.

Since this is so often the case with these kinds of regional priority disputes, I suspect that both flags originate from a common, shared design (which would render the issue of priority moot), but I would appreciate it if other, more knowledgeable editors took a look at this.
