What is GPWS?[edit]

GPWS means Ground Proximity Warning System, it is an electronic voice that alerts pilots if they are flying too low. See more here. The person who should not be named (talk) 23:58, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Which airport in Singapore[edit]

According to ASN the flight came from "Singapore (unknown airport)". Since this is the only source I've removed the reference to Singapore Changi Airport. If someone has a source for this, feel free to add it again.--ospalh (talk) 11:01, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Departure Airport is confirmed to be Changi WSSS[edit]

The departure airport was Changi, ICAO identifier WSSS. Singapore is a tiny Island. There was only one International Airport for B-747 freight commerce and that was Singapore Changi Airport. I flew for Flying Tigers and out of Singapore for over twenty years. I flew the Flight 66 segment many times. It flew through Changi to the old Kuala Lumpur airport in Subang with one runway, which is no longer used for International flights. Unfortunately, since the accident occured in Malaysia the accident report is not on line. I have the company accident report overseas, I'll try to upload it next year when I return.
