Not a copyright violation[edit]

This article was not a copyright violation. From this comment,[1] I'm assuming the alleged violation was a copy from Sun Records. [2] But note that the Sun Records article is dated 17 February 2009. The material here was already substantially in place a year before that (23 February 2008) [3]. Also if you look at the Sun Records article all the internal links are to Wikipedia. Sun Records copied from Wikipedia. Not the other way around. I'm reverting the article to its previous state. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 13:34, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like you are correct; thanks for catching that. On a small point, I don't think the date is relevant; that may have been the last time it was updated. But clearly with the links to Wikipedia, it is they who took content from Wikipedia. Thanks!  Frank  |  talk  13:44, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it actually does seem to be a copyright violation, but not from that source. It pastes material from [4], which is dated 1999. For example: NYT: "Cigarettes and alcohol wore Mr. Frost down over the years, but he continued to record, tour and diversify his repertory, appearing in the films Deep Blues and Crossroads." Our article: "Over the years, cigarettes and alcohol wore Frost down but he continued to record, tour and diversify his repertory, appearing in the films Deep Blues: A Musical Pilgrimage to the Crossroads and Crossroads." The material that remains copied from that source needs to be revised. I'll blank again until it can be. (Locating sources can be tricky. :/) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:05, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We can re-revert to my [admittedly hastily] rewritten version and move along, no?  Frank  |  talk  14:25, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So done. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:29, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
