Tsinajinnie spelling[edit]

I have a comment/question about the use of the spelling "Tsihnahjinnie". This is certainly his parent's name but after a point early in his career Andrew stopped using that spelling when signing his paintings and researchers and art commentators seem to always use "Tsinajinnie". Lester lists him as "Tsinajinnie", notes his family name as "Tsihnajinnie", and lists aliases because Andy signed his name with so many different spellings other than his family name. So, anyone doing research would have the best results by searching for "Tsinajinnie" because that spelling has become commonplace. This is something that needs to be considered whenever Andrew becomes a bluelink. What to do , what to do?Amerindianarts (talk) 17:17, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Birth date (dob)[edit]

Mr. Begay said in 2002: "Date of birth: Not recorded. My parents did not have a calendar. They only know I was born in the fall of the year 1914. So my date of birth — I made it November 15, 1914." [1]

However, most other sources I saw gave his dob as 1917, and this interview quotes him confusingly on other dates and events. Hence the question mark for dob. --Pete Tillman (talk) 19:18, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also we don't use primary sources (like an interview with the article subject) as a preferred citation, see WP:RS. 08:59, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

Issues with citations[edit]

There were major issues on this article yesterday - with no citations in the reference field but three sets of "end notes" placed in the middle of the article and done in a strange way. The citation style of the endnotes were not standardized and many of the citations fail WP:RS - specifically the PhD dissertation paper that was extensively used throughout - which may be a COI editor or perhaps just a new editor. Lots clean up edits happened today in order to get things more legible, I am adding a note here in case issues persist. Jooojay (talk) 09:06, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
