Deployment[edit]

There are still no relieble sources to confirm it was ever deployed or even reached IOC status. Flayer (talk) 09:17, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. According to this article, it won't likely be operational before 2020. —Ynhockey (Talk) 18:25, 30 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

the system wasn't deployed in 2016 or at all[edit]

i live in israel and i didn't heard nothing about it from the news and if the iron beam system was deployed it would get very noticeable headlines. there was some estimation that it will be ready in 2016 but those estimations where wrong and it will take some more years to be deployed.--79.179.76.230 (talk) 23:34, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have also not heard of any deployment. Added an update tag. —Ynhockey (Talk) 14:24, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

not sure, but the article said at the end that it was — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.178.170.231 (talk) 10:12, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No news about deployment as of 18 May 21[edit]

There appears to be no news at all about deployment of Iron Beam as of 18 May 2021, during intense rocket attacks. This would suggest either that it's not operational (will it ever be? Now if ever is the time), or is considered highly secret. If it were in use I'd expect it to be announced, to reassure the public while giving away little to the opposition. As there is an absence of news, rather than negative news, there's nothing that can ba said in the article. Best wishes, Pol098 (talk) 11:10, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Name Change[edit]

Should we change this article to "Light Shield" instead of "Iron Beam"? The official name is the light shield, and the iron beam name is almost 10 years out of date at this point. TimeEngineer (talk) 08:45, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Even Rafael still refers to it as Iron Beam. So would keep the Iron Beam moniker. 2A02:A452:1BE2:1:99E3:7238:A208:7FBC (talk) 22:16, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
